Leslie was diagnosed with terminal Ovarian cancer with tumors that spread to her diaphragm, spleen and more. The doctors only gave her a year to live and that was IF she did full blown chemotherapy and radiation. Her chance for 5 year survival was only 2%.
Leslie took matter into her own hands and went on a mission to defeat this diagnosis. She talks about her daughter being 7 years old and dreaming of one day being able to dance at her daughters wedding. (She did just that!)
Her journey led her to being an advocate for Gerson therapy and her story is an inspiration for anyone who hears it.
Here are some keys from the interview:
- 33 1/2 Year Ovarian Cancer Survivor
- Had a 2% 5 year survival rate
- Had a radical hysterectomy in 1985
- Diagnosed at 40 - now 74 years old
- Very Disciplined With Gerson Diet
- Started Gerson Therapy in 1985
- Feels her success in Gerson Therapy is due to the fact that she didn’t do any chemotherapy, so her immune system wasn’t damaged like many others that do conventional treatment. She followed The Gerson Therapy For 4 years straight without breaking the protocol once.
Leslie is just one of 20 Long Term Cancer Survivors that will be at our CHIPSA Hospital Celebration of Life Event.

Lara's Of Results of IPT and CK3 in Just 5 Weeks
Laura was blind in her left eye when she came to CHIPSA Hospital. She was suffering from a rare form of cancer that resulted in a tumor that ran from her brain and out her nasal cavity. This tumor also fractured her skull.
Doctors in the United States had given her anywhere from 6-12 months to live, even with full dose chemotherapy. She was put in hospice in October of 2016.
Refusing the death sentence given to her by doctors in the United States, Laura and her new husband "risked" and made their way to CHIPSA.
Due to the tumor in her skull, Laura could not fly because the cabin pressure would be too intense. They instead had to drive all the way from Knoxville, TN to Playas de Tijuana, MX!
By the time Laura arrived out our hospital, in mid January of 2017 the tumor had made her blind in her left eye. Within 2 weeks of her being at CHIPSA Hospital, she regained her eyesight and we knew we were on the right track.
Within the first 8 months there had been an 80% reduction to her tumor as confirmed by scans.
When Laura went back home she had a port malfunction and the American medical system wouldn’t allow her to put a new port in. So she went 8 weeks with no treatment. The tumor grew back over the 8 weeks and she came back to CHIPSA. Laura is still in a battle but her tumor has stabilized and just recently reduced by 2 more centimeters.
Laura’s story is an example of how CHIPSA was able to get a remarkable response in a case where the U.S. medical system had put her in hospice. Laura is alive nearly 2 years after being put in hospice and her bright and positive personality has been an inspiration many!
After being "fired" as a patient by his USA oncologist, Stage 4 Cancer patient Thomas Peters sought out other ways to treat his Lymphoma. His story is one that we can all be proud of!
When Thomas arrived to Chipsa, he had a tumor in his mouth, the size of a baseball and was riddled with swollen lymph nodes in his neck. He trouble breathing, he had trouble walking, he had trouble eating. Thomas couldn't do much of anything.
Even though the fight is not over, full remission is something that we can all be proud of! This is a beautiful story of one of our amazingly determined patients. Thank you Tom for being such an inspiration for all and being dedicated to paying it forward with your story!!
Ann E. Fonfa received treatment back in 1995 from CHIPSA Hospital and used it as a catalyst. She had a strict focus on Gerson Therapy and never used chemotherapy or radiation during her treatment.
To say she is inspiring is an understatement. She founded The Annie Appleseed Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation which provides information, education, advocacy, and awareness for people with cancer and their families and friends who are interested in complementary or alternative medicine (CAM) and natural therapies from a patient's perspective.
Ann is a hero to CHIPSA and cancer patients all over the world.
Beata came to Tijuana Mexico for 5 weeks in 1980 with stage 4 Melanoma. At the time she was a reporter for the British Broadcasting Corproartion (BBC) She had been told by her oncologist that she had between 6 weeks and 6 months to live when she started researching and looking for other options.
Beata stayed on strict Gerson therapy and was very focuesed on beating her "terminal" cancer. She says that she was not afraid to die and she felt that was a help through it all.
Beata says:
"I suffered from early stage diabetes mellitus, incipient osteoarthritis and painful recurrent dental abscesses. Within three weeks at the Gerson clinic in Mexico all three conditions simply vanished, never to return. Moreover, my surgically mutilated right leg began to grow back some flesh, a process which I watched with jaw-dropping amazement. (Getting rid of the melanoma took much longer, though: the body prefers to deal with the easy bits first.)"
She eat wrote a book called "A time To Heal" Beata is a writer, lecturer and psychotherapist, and has a special interest in the body-mind link in sickness and health. Since her recovery from Metastasised malignant melanoma 37 years ago by using the Gerson Therapy she has dedicated her life to spreading the great message and helping as many people as possible.
Beata is still alive today at 94 years old!!

He has been on the forefront of the liquid biopsy and circulating tumor cell movement. His passion is to find ways to match tumors with specific drugs that might be off label and to create even better early detection diagnostic tests.
Dr. Phillip S. Kim PhD.
Dr. Kim was awarded the human genetics fellowship by the National Institute of Health (NIH) at the Cedar Sinai Medical Center. His research focused on the development of gene-therapy model via hematopoietic-stem cell mediated gene transfer and the development of ‘Geno-dynamics’ system to investigate gene function.
At Prometheus he led oncology and gastroenterology research teams to develop technologies, platforms and services for personalized/ targeted diagnostic applications with prognostic, predictive and monitoring utilities for oncology and autoimmune diseases.
His work included managing planning & execution of technical projects, clinical trials, science and technology communications, research collaborations & KOL (Key Opinion Leader) relationships, and publications.
He is the inventor of the immune pod which is positioned to address critical unmet need in oncology clinic by activating patient’s autologous immune cells specific for individual’s tumor for effective and safe cellular therapy without complex cellular manipulation. Minimally invasive approach using ‘Immuno-Pod’ maximizes tumor specific immune cell activation by exposing otherwise inaccessible tumor in vivo to contiguous ‘synthetic met’ ex vivo seamlessly integrated for each patient.
Dr. Kim’s valuable insight at CHIPSA will help guide decisions for precision medicine and specific immune response for all patients.
Gerson Therapy was developed by Dr. Max Gerson in 1928. The Diet was one of the first natural cancer therapeutics and has been use to treat degenerative disease for more than 80 years. Gerson Therapy consists of an organic, plant-based diet. It includes fresh pressed organic juices, coffee enemas, and natural supplements. The Gerson Therapy's mission is to restore the body's ability to heal itself.
After his passing in 1959, Dr. Max Gerson's daughter, Charlotte Gerson wanted to continue her father's work in helping people heal from cancer. She was one of the founding members of CHIPSA Hospital in 1979. Many have attempted the Gerson Therapy and practice over the years, but few have the credentials to declare the positive results. CHIPSA Hospital has been able to maintain remissions in treating malignant cancers and degenerative diseases.
The medical practice at CHIPSA Hospital has been treating patients through integrative medical protocols since 1979. Over the last several years, CHIPSA has combined the best-known therapies into a potential a leading integrative medical practice. Several of our treatments have achieved long-term results on their own. To our knowledge no other institution has ever combined these individualized protocols together.
Since our inception, we have established the first multidisciplinary integrative medical protocol in North America. It involves the integration of Gerson Therapy along with advanced immune enhancing protocols. A five year melanoma study done at CHIPSA, published in peer reviewed medical journals, yielded over a 600% increase in five year survival for Stage 4 melanoma.
CHIPSA also believes it is very important for patients to focus on their mental health when dealing with cancer. One of the doctors who had been with CHIPSA for 38 years said, “I have never seen a patient that is overwhelmingly negative survive their cancer."
"Does that mean that just because you’re positive you will live? No."
"But from my experience negative people don’t make it.”, he goes on “I believe that there is an emotional aspect to most cancers. I like to find out what the emotional trauma is and have our team work on that for the patient and let them release it. Many patients claim they have a spiritual enlightenment when they’re at the hospital."
CHIPSA hired 2 full time psychologists to support patients in dealing with past emotional trauma and other fears associated with a cancer diagnosis. We also have weekly meetings for patients and supporters as a part of every patients stay. We use a unique system of Western and Eastern techniques to get to the root cause of trauma.
Next to the treatments at CHIPSA, healing at home is probably the most important aspect of healing from cancer. It is also the most neglected. CHIPSA understands this and is fully committed to helping patient long term.
We have developed several aftercare protocols to ensure that patients stay on course.
This includes regularly scheduled doctor calls, online resource centers, and a private Facebook group.
Whenever a question or concern arises, CHIPSA is here for you.
Each of the doctors at CHIPSA take an individualized clinical approach to patient treatment. We take pride into getting to know our patients so we can provide the most customized treatment available. This unique approach to treating cancer has been the cornerstone of our success.
In fact, some of the treatments that we have been using for over 20 years have recently been granted FDA approval with only minor changes to the treatment.
The reason CHIPSA has been able to be on the forefront of such developments for 38 years is our winning teams eagerness to always be open to new ideas and possibilities.
