Renowned Cancer Hospital to Offer Stem Cell Program for Autoimmune Disease Patients
CHIPSA Hospital is excited to announce a new treatment program for patients with autoimmune diseases.
Up until now, the hospital has focused solely on its cutting-edge cancer treatment program. With a backlog of cancer patients waiting for space, they have only been able to offer autoimmune treatments to staff and their family members. However, with more space and some extra resources they are now able to offer cutting-edge stem cell treatments to the public.
“We wanted to start treating autoimmune diseases because we’d seen such great results with our family and friends, “ said CHIPSA’s medical director, Dr. Anton Escobedo. “But we were very focused on our model for cancer therapy at the time, and we didn’t have the space or bandwidth to take on other conditions. Now with recent developments, we have some good data coming out of phase 1 stem cell trials internationally and in the U.S. We feel like it’s a perfect time to help patients who don’t have a lot of options.”
Autoimmune diseases occur when the body’s immune system begins attacking healthy cells. Common examples of these diseases include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and thyroid-related conditions. Unfortunately, most autoimmune diseases have very limited treatment options. But CHIPSA has been taking on hard-to-treat diseases for 41 years.
What will CHIPSA’s autoimmune treatment program entail?
The main approach to treating autoimmune diseases at CHIPSA will use stem cells. But as with its cancer treatment protocols, the hospital’s program will not rely upon one method alone. All autoimmune patients will see CHIPSA’s nutritionist for a personalized meal plan based on the Gerson therapy. They will also receive a combination of therapies ranging from NAD+, hyperbaric oxygen, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, and IV vitamin C. These treatments have been used on staff and patients with conditions other than cancer for the last 5 years.
“We don’t claim to have all of the answers,” said Escobedo. “But we have seen miraculous recoveries of terminal patients. And this includes autoimmune patients who happen to be family members and staff.”
Escobedo continues, “Our approach to treating autoimmune diseases is unique. Our goal is to first hyperactivate the immune system and then calm it. Kind of like a reset. It’s actually the opposite approach being studied for MS, where they wipe out the immune system with chemotherapy and then build it back. Our hypothesis is that the immune system must be reset. So we cause an acute inflammation first, and then we use stem cells to calm the immune system down and regenerate cells.”
CHIPSA has 28 licensed medical doctors on staff, ranging from immunologists, oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons. They also have a world-class scientific advisory board, making them in a unique position to offer stem cell treatments. Very few hospitals in the world have their extensive knowledge of the immune system and how it works.
Their scientific advisory board includes the former chief of immunogenetics for the National Institute of Health, Dr. Francesco Marincola. He is the author of over 600 peer-reviewed articles, as well as the founder and Editor in Chief of the Journal of Translational Medicine. He also serves as an editor of 9 other peer-reviewed journals.
The board also includes Dr. Vijay Mahant, a leader in genetic testing and diagnostics, and award-winning geneticist Dr. Philip Kim, who was the Vice President of Auto Genomics at Cedars Sinai Medical Hospital.
CHIPSA will soon be announcing their newest SAB member, who is a leading neurologist in the United States. Although it’s not completely finalized, patients with neurological disorders will likely have the option of consulting with him to discuss their disorder and condition. He will also follow them along in their treatment process.
Unlike other stem cell programs, CHIPSA will be bringing patients back to Mexico at the 3-month mark to follow up on their progress and administer a second round of stem cells.
This announcement will be music to the ears of many autoimmune disease patients who have been waiting for CHIPSA to treat diseases beyond cancer. Many lives may be enhanced — and saved — now that they are moving their truly integrative program forward.
